Judge Rejects McAfee Pop-Up Ad Class Action Settlement

Law360, New York (April 10, 2012, 5:34 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Friday said a proposed settlement between computer security giant McAfee Inc. and a class of plaintiffs who claim they were misled into purchasing another company's products was not fair to the entire class and overcompensated the attorneys.

The proposal favored one subset of consumers over another, U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh said in an order denying final approval of the settlement.
