Law360, New York (April 26, 2012, 4:13 PM ET) -- A California Senate panel passed a bill Wednesday that would require chain restaurants to disclose the origins of seafood on their menus, in a development that comes amid federal regulators' concerns over foodborne illnesses from imported seafood.
In a 5-3 vote, the state Senate's Health Committee passed S.B. 1486, which would impose seafood labeling requirements on food retailers with at least 19 similar establishments that sell seafood as a menu item.
