Bill To Cut OT From Fixed Salaries Passes Calif. Panel

Law360, San Diego (May 02, 2012, 7:25 PM ET) -- A bill meant to undo a California appeals court decision by excluding overtime hours from fixed salaries for nonexempt workers, even if they signed a private employment deal covering all wages, cleared a Democrat-controlled state Assembly panel on Wednesday.

The Assembly Appropriations Committee voted 12-5 along party lines in favor of A.B. 2103, carried by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, that seeks to overturn a Second Appellate District ruling.
