Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 6:49 PM ET) -- The California Senate on Monday approved a bill aimed at reducing pollution and traffic congestion in the San Francisco Bay Area by allowing employees at medium and large companies to pay for environmentally friendly transportation with pre-tax dollars.
The bill, introduced by Democratic Sen. Leland Yee and which passed on a 30-7 vote, would ensure that employers with more than 50 workers participate in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, congestion and air pollution.
