Law360, San Diego (May 09, 2012, 7:35 PM ET) -- A bill that insurers claim is an attempt to overturn a California Supreme Court ruling that found personal injury plaintiffs can’t recover the total amount billed for medical fees if they received a discount through a deal between their medical provider and insurer won approval from a state panel Tuesday.
The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 3-2 in favor of S.B. 1528, carried by Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, D-Sacramento, and it now heads to the Senate floor.
