Law360, New York (May 18, 2012, 7:51 PM ET) -- A California federal judge refused Friday to allow a convicted AU Optronics Corp. executive to hire Hogan Lovells attorney Neal Katyal after the government raised ethics law objections to allowing the former acting solicitor general to work on the price-fixing case.
Following a hearing Friday morning, U.S. District Judge Susan Illston denied defendant Hui Hsiung's motion to add Katyal, a top appellate litigator famous for his work on the Guantanamo Bay detainees U.S. Supreme Court case, to his defense team.
