Samsung Says Apple Withheld Evidence, Seeks Sanctions

Law360, New York (May 23, 2012, 8:28 PM ET) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. asked a California federal judge Tuesday to sanction Apple Inc. for failing to produce documents required by a court order in the wide-ranging patent war between the companies over smartphone and tablet technology.

Samsung, which was sanctioned in the same case earlier this month for violating an order requiring it hand over source code for its devices, said Apple willfully withheld thousands of pages of documents it was ordered in December to provide Samsung.
