Law360, New York (August 03, 2012, 2:42 PM ET) -- A German luggage company on Wednesday accused the producers of “The Avengers” of copying the design of its distinctive suitcase in the packaging for the home video release of the blockbuster superhero flick next month.
Rimowa GmbH said in a lawsuit filed in California federal court that Marvel Entertainment LLC and Buena Vista Home Entertainment Inc. have infringed the trademarked design of its “Topas” attache case by making a plastic replica of the luggage piece that will contain a Blu-Ray version of the film.
