Law360, New York (August 07, 2012, 1:24 PM ET) -- The Weather Channel LLC deluged consumers with unwanted text messages advertising its forecasting services, violating the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act, one alleged victim said Thursday in a proposed class action.
The suit is part of a growing body of litigation surrounding advertising practices targeting consumers’ cell phones, either by text messages or other methods such as robocalls.
