Law360, New York (August 29, 2012, 6:02 PM ET) -- A California resident launched a putative class action Wednesday against GNC Corp. and USPLabs LLC, claiming they marketed and sold unsafe and ineffective weight loss supplements containing controversial workout booster DMAA.
In a complaint filed in the Southern District of California, plaintiff Christopher Hilken alleges USPLabs and GNC made, marketed and sold Jack3d and OxyELITE Pro weight loss products that the defendants said were "university studied," "scientifically reviewed" and proven to be safe and effective.
