Law360, New York (December 11, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The city of San Francisco has become the latest entity to take legal action over a massive oil spill caused by a container ship that crashed into the Bay Bridge last month.
The lawsuit, filed Monday in a San Francisco Superior Court, seeks to recover damages from Hong Kong-based ship owners Regal Stone Ltd. and Fleet Management Ltd.; the Shipowners Insurance and Guaranty Co. Ltd., or Sigco, which insured the ship; and Capt. John Cota, who was at the helm when the crash occurred.
