NLRB Judge Orders News-Press To Rehire Journalists

Law360, New York (January 04, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Eight journalists fired for supporting the Teamsters union have won their jobs back in an order by a National Labor Relations Board judge, who ruled the publisher of the Santa Barbara News-Press had two weeks to reinstate the reporters.

NLRB administrative law judge William G. Kocol ruled the publisher, Ampersand Publishing LLC, engaged in unfair labor practices by threatening and interrogating employees who participated in union activities and terminating eight reporters in retaliation for supporting the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
