Law360, New York (February 19, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Kansas House of Representatives passed an energy bill Tuesday that would allow Sunflower Electric Power Corp. to build two coal-fired power plants in the southwestern portion of the state.
The bill passed by a vote of 77-45, with the support of 66 Republicans and 11 Democrats, the Associated Press reported. However, it failed to get the 84 votes needed for a veto-proof two-thirds majority.
