Law360, New York (June 09, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- After nearly 70 product liability wins, Taser International has been ordered to hand over $6.2 million in a suit over a drug-addled man who died after police officers administered multiple shots from the company's electric stunners to try to subdue him.
On Friday, a California jury ordered Taser to pay $1 million in compensatory damages and $5.2 million in punitive damages to the estate and parents of Robert Heston after deeming the company 15% responsible for his death.
