Law360, New York (January 20, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- With sales of flat-panel monitors and television sets soaring in North America and Europe, the top makers have become entrenched in a legal battle for patent rights to the technology.
Two patent owners – the French government agency for atomic energy and the U.S.-based Guardian Industries Corp. – are aggressively suing monitor makers and retailers, trying to recoup some of the growing profits in the market for liquid crystal displays (LCDs).
