Law360, New York (March 20, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Responding to the insurance industry's request for a title insurance rate hike, Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett has called for an overhaul of the rate structure for title insurance and for a dramatic reduction in rates going forward.
On Friday, Corbett reported that his office had notified the Office of Insurance Product Regulation and Market Enforcement of its objection to a request made last month by the Title Insurance Rating Bureau of Pennsylvania — which represents insurance companies — for a rate increase.
