Impax Laboratories Inc. on Thursday settled a patent infringement suit brought by Abbott Laboratories and Fournier Laboratories Ireland Ltd. in New Jersey over the generic-drug maker's efforts to market a version of cholesterol drug Trilipix.

Abbott Laboratories and Fournier Laboratories Ireland Ltd. have fired off a patent infringement complaint against Impax Laboratories Inc., claiming that the generic-drug maker infringed their patent by applying to market its own version of the companies' cholesterol drug.
