Sears Roebuck and Co. on Thursday resolved a putative consumer class action in New Jersey federal court accusing the retailer of deliberately selling faulty garage door openers.

Fraud Claims Cut From Garage Opener Suit V. Sears
A federal judge has struck most claims from a putative class action against Sears alleging the company knowingly sold Craftsman garage door openers with faulty lightbulb sockets, but he preserved an unjust enrichment claim against the retailer and left the door open for the plaintiff to amend her suit.
