Alaska Loses Protest Of Beluga Whale Endangered Status
The state of Alaska lost its bid protesting the U.S. government's designation of beluga whales in Alaska's Cook Inlet as an endangered species on Monday, with a Washington federal judge ruling that protecting the whales was reasonable because of a continuing population decline.
