A Missouri federal judge ruled Friday that Lexington Insurance Co. was not responsible for paying to defend against putative class actions accusing Doe Run Resources Corp. of discharging hazardous metals and other toxic substances, finding the pollution exclusion in Doe Run's policies applies.

Lexington Insurance Co. told a Missouri federal court Friday that it has no duty to indemnify lead producer Doe Run Resources Corp. for the costs of a pair of suits stemming from a Doe Run facility's release of toxic substances.
