A Virginia federal judge ruled Wednesday that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office properly initiated inter partes re-examinations that found Callaway Golf Co.'s patents for a multilayer golf ball unpatentable, despite a ruling that the party requesting the probe had breached an agreement with Callaway.
