Judge Tosses Environmental Fee Claims In Hertz Fraud Suit
A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday threw out a portion of a proposed class action against Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. over damage waiver fees, ruling that the plaintiffs failed to show that the environmental recovery fee Hertz charged customers violated the state's consumer fraud laws.

Hertz Says Damage Waiver Fees Don't Merit Fraud Suit
Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. asked a New Jersey federal judge on Monday to reconsider an order denying it partial summary judgment in a putative class action over damage waiver fees, saying the court erred in finding that consumer fraud claims can be based solely on high pricing.
