Chemtura Settles Carbon Black Co.'s $20M Indemnity Claim
Chemtura Corp. has agreed to pay $305,000 to settle indemnity claims stemming from a $20.7 million pollution verdict against Continental Carbon Co., which bought a carbon black plant from Chemtura in 1995, according to a stipulation filed Friday in Chemtura's bankruptcy proceeding.

Chemtura Settles Coal Tar Pitch Claims For $4.7M
Formerly bankrupt Chemtura Corp. on Tuesday reached a $4.7 million settlement in New York with 37 Chapter 11 claimants who said they were injured by exposure to coal tar pitch, a hazardous residue produced during the distillation of coal tar.

Chemtura Rejects $13M Payout For La. Superfund Cleanup
Formerly bankrupt Chemtura Corp. on Friday said that it should not be forced to pay a consortium of chemical and oil companies nearly $13 million to cover its portion of future cleanup costs at a Louisiana Superfund site.
