Post-'Raging Bull,' Laches Still Alive In Patents, Judge Says
A Connecticut federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Supreme Court's "Raging Bull" decision doesn't apply to patent law, leaving intact a century-old defense to long-delayed patent litigation, but he nevertheless refused to let GoDaddy.com Inc. out of an infringement suit over automatic renewal emails.

GoDaddy.com Inc. will have to face allegations that it infringes a patent owned by a Connecticut company each time it sends automated emails to customers to remind them to renew domain name subscriptions, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.

GoDaddy Sued Over Automated Email Patents
GoDaddy.com Inc. was hit Tuesday in Connecticut federal court with a lawsuit alleging the Web domain registry infringes two patents every time it sends automated emails asking customers to renew domain name subscriptions.
