Truckers Lose Bid To Declare Meal-Break Policies Invalid
A class of California truck drivers lost a bid Wednesday to have employer Vitran Express Inc.'s' written policies on rest and meal breaks declared defective on their face when a federal judge said even if he found them invalid, such a ruling would be immaterial to the outcome of the case.

Federal Law Trumps Truckers' Break Claims Post-Brinker: Judge
A California federal judge wrapped up a putative class action Thursday against delivery truck company Vitran Express Inc., marking the first ruling in which the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act trumped meal break claims since the California Supreme Court's landmark Brinker decision.
