Ex-Class Attys Must Produce Docs In $333M BofA Settlement
A Missouri federal judge Wednesday ordered ex-Green Jacobson PC attorneys to turn over case files to the new attorneys representing investors in their $333.2 million settlement over NationsBank Corp.'s merger with BankAmerica Corp., now known as Bank of America, saying the lawyers have a duty to hand over the information even if their law firm is dissolved.

A split Eighth Circuit on Thursday overturned a lower court's decision to give part of a $333.2 million settlement over NationsBank Corp.'s merger with BankAmerica Corp. to charity, agreeing with a shareholder plaintiff that cash from the accord shouldn't go to an unaffiliated charity.

Attorneys who helped a class of NationsBank Corp. investors secure a $333.2 million settlement over an allegedly botched merger with Bank of America Corp. should not be allowed to give part of that money to charity, a NationsBank investor told the Eighth Circuit on Wednesday.
