In a major step toward closing its Chapter 11 case, the estate of Coach America Inc. settled a dispute Thursday with Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC over $1 million for tires Bridgestone says kept the bus company rolling while it was looking to sell.

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC asked a federal judge in Delaware on Wednesday not to dismiss the Chapter 11 case for Coach America Inc. because it claims the estate still owes it more than $1 million for tires the charter bus company used while it was being sold.

Stagecoach Pays $134M For Part Of Bankrupt Coach America
Australia-based bus and rail owner Stagecoach Group PLC, which operates in the U.K. and U.S., has acquired several of the U.S. business lines of bankrupt Dallas-based Coach America Inc. for more than $134 million, Stagecoach said Friday.
