Ringling Bros. Wrangles $16M In Elephant Cruelty Settlement
The operator of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus reached a $15.75 million settlement on Thursday with animal rights groups that had accused the company of abusing its Asian elephants, marking the first time a private defendant has secured attorneys' fees under the Endangered Species Act.

Circus Operator Seeks $25M For 'Frivolous' Abuse Suit
The operator of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is asking the D.C. federal court to grant it $25 million in attorneys' fees and to issue a $134,000 sanction against attorney Katherine Meyer and her law firm, calling their 13-year suit "frivolous and vexatious."
