Merck Bashes Lawsuits Over Prescription Copay Coupons
Merck & Co. Inc. urged a New Jersey federal court on Monday to derail two proposed class actions by union health plans alleging coupons for brand-name prescription drugs constitute kickbacks and contract interference, saying the unions should prohibit members' rebate use instead of seeking court intervention.

Union Health Plan Sues Merck Over Drug Copay Subsidies
A food workers union on Friday hit Merck & Co. Inc. with a putative class action alleging that its prescription copay subsidy program interferes with health plan contracts by bribing participants with discounts that unlawfully cause prescription plans to pay higher prices for name-brand drugs.
