CVS Caremark Puts Up $4M To End FCA Suit
A CVS Caremark Corp. unit will pay $4.25 million to the federal government and five states to settle a False Claims Act whistleblower suit alleging it defrauded government insurance programs by not reimbursing expenses that should have been covered by private insurers, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

$4M Caremark Deal Not Tied To Fee Row, Whistleblower Says
Whistleblower Janaki Ramadoss on Thursday told a Texas federal judge that her bid for attorneys' fees from Caremark Rx Inc. should proceed, rebuffing Caremark's claim that its $4.25 million settlement of a False Claims Act suit alleging it defrauded government insurance programs is dependent upon the fee issue being resolved.
