Chevron Drops Email Subpoenas In Ecuador Pollution Row
Chevron Corp. has backed off its bid to access Google and Yahoo email account data of dozens of nonparties to its racketeering suit that successfully blocked a $9.5 billion Ecuadorean pollution judgment against the oil giant, the Electronic Frontier Foundation said Friday.

A California federal judge on Tuesday denied as premature a motion to quash Chevron Corp.'s nonparty subpoenas served on Google Inc. and Yahoo Inc. seeking user data for more than 70 email addresses in its fight against the enforcement of a $19.2 billion pollution judgment in Ecuador.
