Capital One Escapes Interest Rate Fraud Class Action
A California federal judge Tuesday dismissed a proposed class action accusing Capital One Bank (USA) NA of lying to credit card holders about a loan balance transfer program, agreeing with the bank that it didn't violate its contract with customers by charging interest on late payments on the transferred balances.

Capital One Says Contracts Sink Balance Transfer Suit
Capital One Bank (USA) NA urged a California federal judge Friday to toss a proposed class action alleging it tricked customers into transferring higher-interest loan balances to Capital One credit cards without telling them they would have to pay interest on those balances, saying it never violated its contracts with card owners.
