Toys R Us Inc. settled with a customer who filed a putative class action claiming it allegedly lured online consumers with the promise of valuable free gifts, only to provide gifts of lesser value or no gifts at all, according to a filing in New Jersey federal court Monday.

Toys "R" Us Inc. was hit with a putative class action in New Jersey federal court Wednesday claiming it offered valuable free gifts to lure online consumers but then provided gifts of lesser value, like miniature Lego Christmas trees, or nothing at all.
