A Texas federal judge dismissed on Wednesday a suit involving wireless network patents developed by an ex-partner of Fish & Richardson PC that were asserted against Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc., after a deal was reached in the case.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. on Wednesday asked the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board to invalidate wireless network patents developed by an ex-partner of Fish & Richardson PC, which ousted the lawyer after his patents were asserted against some of the firm's own clients, including Google Inc.
