A defense contractor accusing five former employees and rival Academi LLC of using a private equity-backed acquisition offer to steal its trade secrets lost a Tennessee court bid Monday to enjoin the employees from working for Academi, just days after voluntarily dismissing a similar federal court complaint.

In a suit removed to Tennessee federal court Friday, drone manufacturer and defense contractor ISR Group Inc. says two of its former employees plotted to defect to rival company Academi LLC after acquisition talks with a private equity-focused investment group that holds a stake in Academi failed.
