Gawker, Dr. Phil End Suit Over Manti Te'o Hoaxer Interview
A Texas federal judge on Monday agreed to dismiss a dispute between Gawker Media LLC and the production company behind the "Dr. Phil" television show which claimed the blog network had infringed the show's copyrights by using of clips of an interview with the man who pretended to be football player Manti Te'o's girlfriend.

The television production company behind the "The Dr. Phil Show" asked a Texas federal court Tuesday to rule that the popular sports blog Deadspin infringed its copyrights by publishing video excerpts of an interview with the man who pretended to be Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o's girlfriend.

Dr. Phil Sues Deadspin Over Manti Te'o Hoax Interview
Dr. Phil on Monday sued the operators of prominent sports blog Deadspin.com in Texas federal court for copyright infringement, alleging his show's ratings plummeted after his exclusive interview with the man who pretended to be former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o's girlfriend in an elaborate Internet hoax was posted on the site.
