An Arkansas federal judge on Wednesday denied certification in a proposed class action alleging Whirlpool Corp.'s failure to clean up toxic chemicals at its refrigerator manufacturing facility decimated surrounding property values, saying he had doubts as to whether a class action would be preferable to individual suits.
