Rewards Method Patents Invalidated Under Alice, Bilski
A Federal Circuit judge sitting by designation in Texas district court ruled Tuesday that two patents on a computer-based method for converting airline customers' loyalty award credits are invalid in light of the U.S. Supreme Court's Alice Corp. and Bilski rulings because they claim only an abstract idea.

American, JetBlue, Others Hit With Rewards Program IP Suits
Loyalty Conversion Systems Corp. filed a barrage of lawsuits against American Airlines Inc., JetBlue Airways Corp. and eight other major airlines in Texas federal court on Tuesday, claiming infringement of its patents related to frequent flier rewards programs.
