The Second Circuit on Thursday struck down an appeal from a massive class of investors alleging that JPMorgan Chase & Co. flouted antitrust laws by artificially suppressing prices for silver futures, ruling that the plaintiffs fell well short of showing that the company wantonly manipulated the market.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. told the Second Circuit on Wednesday that dozens of consolidated lawsuits alleging the bank suppressed silver prices lack a factual basis to support the assertion that it violated antitrust laws or manipulated the U.S. silver market.
