The trustees of Boston University have agreed to settle lawsuits with a firm representing 25 companies, including Microsoft Corp. and Apple Inc., over their use of a patented semiconductor, the university said Thursday.
The trustees of Boston University on Friday launched a new series of patent infringement suits against technology companies including Canon Inc. and Blackberry Ltd., accusing them of manufacturing and selling products containing a semiconductor device patented by one of its professors.
