The Federal Aviation Administration and Santa Monica, California, have settled a yearslong land title dispute over control of the Santa Monica Airport, reaching a deal on Saturday that keeps the airport open until the end of 2028, after which the city can close it and turn it into a park.

Judge Shuts Down Santa Monica Airport Land Tussle
The city of Santa Monica, Calif., lost its bid to wrest control of its airport back from the U.S. government, after a California federal judge said Thursday that the time wasn't yet right to settle the contract saga dating back to World War II.
