The Second Circuit on Monday refused to rethink its ruling against Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. and its insurers in their litigation blaming contractors for the destruction of a power substation near 7 World Trade Center as a result of the 9/11 attacks.

Con Ed, Insurers Urge 2nd Circ. Rehearing In 9/11 Suit
Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. and its insurers asked the Second Circuit on Wednesday to rethink a decision that freed contractors from blame for a power substation destroyed by the collapse of 7 World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks, claiming the earlier opinion improperly brushed aside expert opinions.

2nd Circ. Rejects Negligence Claim In 9/11 Tower Collapse
The Second Circuit on Wednesday denied efforts by Consolidated Edison Co. to blame the destruction of a power substation on the contractors who designed 7 World Trade Center, saying the collapse could not be blamed on negligence alone given the unprecedented havoc of the 9/11 attacks.
