Information security provider Trustwave Holdings Inc. on Saturday publicly denied having done any cyberthreat mitigation work for Target Corp., a day after one plaintiff dropped out of a putative class action seeking to hold the company partially responsible for the retailer's recent massive data breach.

A pair of banks on Monday launched the latest class action over Target Corp.'s massive data breach, attacking both the retailer and its security vendor Trustwave Holdings Inc. for allegedly failing to bring the store's systems into compliance with industry standards and established security laws.
