Alaska Judge Nixes Arctic Ringed Seals' 'Threatened' Status
The federal government should not have used predictions about the effects of climate change to classify a ringed seal subspecies as "threatened," an Alaska federal judge said Friday, less than two years after he tossed a similar rule for bearded seals.

The federal government on Friday asked an Alaska federal judge to toss a challenge to its decision to list the Arctic ringed seal as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
