Ford Van Owners Seek Class Cert. In $385M Suit

Law360, New York (June 29, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Nearly two dozen church groups, community centers and individuals have moved for class certification against Ford Motor Co. in a suit seeking up to $385 million from the auto giant for repairs to tens of thousands of 15-passenger vans that allegedly have an increased risk of rollover.

The 22 plaintiffs filed a motion on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey to certify a multistate class or, alternatively, 11 statewide classes made up of owners of Ford's E-350 15-passenger vans....
