Prison Co. FLSA Plaintiffs Seek Class Cert.

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 1:39 PM ET) -- Security personnel, teachers and case managers who are accusing GEO Group Inc. — which bills itself as the second-largest provider of correctional services to the U.S. government — of failing to pay overtime wages have filed separate motions asking a federal judge for conditional class certification.

The plaintiffs, who claim Boca Raton-based GEO failed to pay wages due and neglected to keep accurate records of employees' hours worked, filed their class certification bids on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma....
