PG&E Meter Reader Seeks OT Class Cert.

Law360, New York (July 20, 2009, 4:20 PM ET) -- A former hiring hall meter reader for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. has asked the court to include several hundred hourly employees in a lawsuit accusing the utility of skimping on its overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

On Friday plaintiff Manuel Murillo urged Judge William B. Shubb of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California to certify a collective opt-in class of hiring hall meter readers allegedly deprived of adequate overtime pay.
