Law360, New York (August 12, 2009, 2:09 PM ET) -- The federal judge overseeing the multidistrict litigation over Schering-Plough Corp. unit Organon International Inc.'s NuvaRing contraceptive has denied the company's request that the plaintiffs in the case share the cost of e-discovery, which has reached almost $2 million to date.
Judge Rodney W. Sippel of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri on Tuesday rejected Organon's contention that cost-sharing was warranted because it had been subjected to “more burdensome or expensive discovery than is normally incurred in complex litigation cases.”
