Abercrombie Wins Leave To Appeal Class Cert. Ruling

Law360, New York (August 26, 2009, 2:50 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court has given Abercrombie & Fitch Co. a green light to challenge a trial court's decision to certify a class in a securities suit against the retailer, in response to the company's argument that clear standards are needed governing the resolution of class certification motions.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit handed down an order Aug. 24 granting Abercrombie & Fitch's petition for leave to appeal the trial court's May 21 order granting class certification.
