Law360, New York (June 09, 2010, 7:35 PM ET) -- Unlike plaintiffs in thousands of product liability lawsuits over Chinese drywall, individuals suing New NGC Inc. and other U.S. manufacturers of allegedly defective drywall have failed to have their putative class actions consolidated in a multidistrict proceeding.
The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation concluded Tuesday that disparities among the various lawsuits weigh against transferring the cases and centralizing them in a single court, even though each suit seeks millions of dollars in damages from American drywall manufacturers for their allegedly noxious and corrosive products....
